Jon is a co-founder and the CEO of Aloterra. He oversees the execution of Aloterra's long term commercialization and product development strategies.
With more than 30 years' experience in managing corporate commodity exposure, Jon recognizes the importance of secure supplies and stable prices for biomass conversion facilities. Leveraging his experience in both agricultural and energy commodities, Jon is instrumental in identifying and developing dedicated biomass supply chains to complement Aloterra's development of biomass conversion facilities.
Prior to co-founding Aloterra, Jon served as director of strategic planning for Blendstar LLC, a company that he also co-founded and that develops and operates a network of renewable fuels terminals. Prior to Blendstar, Jon leveraged his experience in both the cash and futures markets to form Griswold Energy Partners to assist large, unbranded grocery chains in the development and operation of fuel procurement programs. The programs that he helped establish at Griswold Energy were based upon work done at Griswold Capital Management, where Jon utilized his extensive fundamental and technical trading expertise to develop computer trading models for a broad range of commodities.
Jon also served as vice president of supply for Growmark's Mark II Energy, where he marketed refined fuels from two Midwestern refineries and was responsible for establishing terminal prices along several pipelines. Jon has also held position as the national marketing director for natural gas trading at TransCanada/Northridge, as well as several other key risk management positions within commodities-based companies.
